Classic Cartoons in Our Childhood

Barbapapa is a French series of comic strip. It was published first in 1970. In 1975, German adapted it into cartoon. It was first showed in America in 1981 and became popular immediately worldwide. Barbapapa is one of the most famous cartoon in 1980s. He is favorable by its originality and humour sense. In every corner of the world, kids even their parents love to watch Barbapapa. Now, Barbapapa has gotten more than 30 languages versions.

The image of Barbapapa is created by French cartonnist Annette Tison and her husband Talus Taylor. They at first made it according to the shape of cotton candy. In French, "Barbapapa" means "father's beard". So they named this cotton candy "Barbapapa". In addition, because the cotton candy in France is always pink, Barbapapa is also pink. The Barbapapas can change to anything. One day, Barbapapa met Barbamama and they gave birth to seven kids. The kids were in seven colors just like the color of the rainbow. The Barbapapas had a lot of funny stories with human beings.

Barbalala is green. She can play many kind of musical instruments. Besides of being a small musician, she also love animals and plants. She is as happy as her brother Barbazoo. All the brothers love her for her mild temperature.

Barbazoo is yellow. He is a nature scientist, zoologist, botanist, meteorologist and enviromental protection scientist. He is a know-all. Besides, he is very helpful. If he finds Barbabright is doing dangerous test, he will manage to stop him!

Barbabright is blue. He is a scientist. No matter chemistry, astrophysics or genetics is easy to him. He always do many risky test and the result is usually a disaster. Luckily, his brother Barbazoo watches his activity all the time.

Barbabelle is purple. She is the most beautiful. She love jewel and all makeups. She is afraid of all brushy things such as caterpillar and spider. Once she sees these, she will faint. Barbabeau is angry with this.

Barbabeau is black and brushy. He is an artist. After going through cubism, high realism, super realism, expressionism and conceptualism, Barbabeau who has rich imaginations still don't find his own style. He is sensitive and always be angry with Barbalib's humorous satire. He is the only kid who can't talk. At the beginning of the cartoon, he turns out to be a dumbbell and is lifted by Barbabravo.

Barbalib is orange. She is an intellectual. She likes to read and has rich knowledge. She always fights to be the elderest against Barbabravo. Her temperature is a little odd but she has a good humour sense.

Barbabravo is red. His hobby is sports. He also like delicious food. A round hat, a magnifier and his huntdog Lolita are his favorites. Although he is a little proud, people love him very much.
